Former Airports Council Int’l Security Chief, Charles Chambers, Joins Priva Technologies...

BALTIMORESep 15, 2008 – Charles R. Chambers, Jr., formerly Senior Vice President, Security and Economic Affairs, Airports Council International-North America, has joined Priva Technologies, Inc. as Executive Vice President.

“Chambers has joined Priva at a critical juncture for our firm as we begin the roll out of our Cleared® Security Platform at airports for use, initially, in employee access control. His expertise in airport security and his experience in working with airports, airlines, industry associations and regulatory agencies will help us gain traction in a timely fashion,” according to Jeff Minushkin, Priva’s chairman and CEO.

“Minushkin said that Chambers will work closely with Alvy Dodson, Executive Vice President of Priva’s Cleared Transportation Corp. subsidiary, to ensure the successful deployment of the Cleared platform. Dodson, a former Transportation Security Administration Federal Security Director, joined Priva in July. ”

In his position at ACI-NA, Chambers managed relationships with Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Federal Aviation Administration, the International Civil Aviation Organization, and various foreign governments.

Before joining ACI in 2005, he was a consultant to U.S. and foreign airlines and U.S. airports. He served in government from 1985 until 1998, first as a Senior Management Analyst in the Government Accountability Office and then as a member of the professional staff of the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation. The chairman of that committee at the time, Senator John McCain, selected Chambers to work on aviation issues, including issues concerning aviation security.

““Charles has made a tremendous contribution to the airport industry and our organization. I think it is fair to say that airports are more secure. He enhanced our relationship with TSA and has worked closely with the agency, our members and the airlines to address a number of critical issues,” Greg Principato, President of ACI-NA said in a statement announcing Chambers’ decision to join Priva.

“Priva is significantly ahead of the game when it comes to designing physical and electronic access control technologies for the airline and airport industries. The security, credentialing and identity authentication products it offers are, indeed, unique in the ways they work and in the solutions they offer. It is my desire, therefore, to help accelerate the deployment of the Cleared platform,” Chambers said.
